We were inspired by the town of Tortuguero on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Tortuguero is a Costa Rican town in the province of Limón, located on the Caribbean coast. In part of Tortuguero National Park, there is a sandbar covered by tropical rainforest, where green turtles often nest on the beaches. The Sea Turtle Conservancy is an organization that has a research station and a visitor center with turtle-related exhibits. The park also features freshwater canals, swamps, and forests teeming with wildlife, such as jaguars, tapirs, and manatees.
